On May 20, there was a charity auction event held by the seiyuu production company 81 Produce . The charity was for the victims of the Hanshin earthquake. The event was held in the outdoor stage on the roof of the Ikebukuro Tobu department store. It was in the open, so everybody was allowed to participate. Pictures were allowed too. But I only took 4 rolls. (^_^)
There were MANY, MANY people.. maybe a few thousand. They had around 200 chairs, but those were taken by people who had camped out from the previous night. I had to stand along the side, along with hundreds of other people.. so I couldn't see very well, or take pictures. But for the second half, a friend gave me his second row seat.
The event flowed as follows.
All of the seiyuu and 81 Produce staff wore white T-shirts, which had the names of all 81 Produce seiyuu printed on the back. It was possible to get these T-shirts by donating 1000 yen or more to charity. They also put on name badges, so it was easy to identity those seiyuu that I had never seen before.
The first song was a duet by Nishimura Chinami and Miki Shinichirou. The Japanese version of A Whole New World from Disney's Aladdin.
The next song was Shutter Chance no Renzoku by Iwao Junko. This is the first time that I had seen this live.. VERY nice! Junko is very cute, and she dances very fast. But I was too far away, so I didn't take that many picutes.
The next song was Pepper Keibu (an old song by Pink Lady), sung by Nishimura Tomohiro (who dressed up in a white nurses outfit, which was so thin that you can see his blue underwear..) and Nakamura Daiki (who was dressed up in a girl's school sailor suit). Also Chiba Shigeru came out in a trench coat in the middle of the song. Then the lyrics changed.. as it became a song about Chiba Shigeru. (^_^;) This was a VERY enjoyable performance.
The next performance was a live audio drama by many voice actors. The story was Momotarou , an old Japanese fairy tale, but they did change the story a lot. There were a lot of very funny lines. The grandfather role was done by Genda Tesshou, the grandmother role was done by Mukai Mariko and Nozawa Masako, and Momotarou was done by Adachi Shinobu. Shinohara Emi, Kawada Taeko, and many others had smaller roles.
Then they had various groups of people come out to auction off stuff.
Katsuki Masako, Takayama Minami, Kobayashi Yuko, and Sakuma Rei formed a group called Nolans. They didn't sing, but they said that they might release something later..
The next song was a duet by Ikezawa Haruna and Miyazaki Issei.
The next song was by Shinohara Emi (don't know the name of the song). Her dance was very fast.
Then Seki Toshihiko, Nakao Ryuusei, Nakahara Shigeru, and a couple other guys sang and danced Toshi Shita no Otokonoko . It was a very good dance.
Then they had another live audio drama Akazukin . The role of Akazukin was done by Kawada Taeko. This was funny too.
Then they had various groups of people come out to auction off stuff.
In the Montana Jones group, Iwao Junko came out, and the bidding went
very high right away.. (70,000 yen)
Nakao Ryuusei said, "Hey, you don't get Junko!"
Then Junko took the ribbon off of the bag (the stuff was in a large bag),
and put it around her own neck (just for a second)!
[nobody I know got a picute of it.. ;_;]
Eventually Junko said that it would go to somebody who had the same
birthday as her, February 18.
There was also a Mutant Turtles group (Shinohara Emi and others).
