details of my trip to Makuhari for TCS 2000

day 1

On Friday night, I went to sleep pretty early (around 1:00) and woke up at 4:00 on Saturday morning. The first train leaves my station at 4:36, so I had to make that. I arrived at Makuhari Messe a little after 6:00, and there were already thousands of people there. There were hundreds that camped out a few days..

It was very HOT waiting in line. (;_;)

I brought my new camera bag with most of my stuff (EOS-1N HS, 300mm F4, 70-200mm F2.8, flash, bracket, 9 rolls of film, digital camera, 20 batteries, MD recorder, computer). It weighed around 15 kg..

They let in at 10:00, and I was able to get in around 10:15. I rushed to the Banpresto booth, and the first Kira Melo event had already started. But the biggest shock was that photos weren't allowed! (;_;) Carried all that stuff for nothing.. (;_;)

There were Kira Melo events all day (at the Banpresto booth) and one at the main stage, so I went to all of those. I didn't have time to go to the Aa Megami-sama event.

The first day of TCS ended at 18:00, so I headed to a soba store to eat with a few friends. (Some of them had camera bags heavier than mine.) At this store, the extra orders of zaru soba is 100 yen, so I ate 5 orders of zaru soba, plus a large mug of beer. This was the only meal of the day for me.. (^_^;

Oh, there was already a long line of people lined up for the next day of TCS at 18:00.

I got home before 22:00, and passed out after taking a shower.

day 2

I woke up at 4:00 again on Sunday, and took the train out to Makuhari again. This time, the crowd was less than the previous day, but it was hotter. (;_;) Since pics weren't allowed I didn't bring my equipment, so at least my bag was very light.

There was another full day of Kira Melo events at the Banpresto booth. On Sunday it was mostly the Second Class students.

The very last Kira Melo event was a tear jerker. I'm pretty sure that this was the first seiyuu event that made my eyes water.. (^_^;;

The second day of TCS ended at 17:00, and since I spent the whole day in front of the Banpresto booth (and the main stage) again, I didn't get to see any of the other booths. (^_^;;
