Venus Project Live Challenge to The Legends Vol.1
The Venus Project Live "Challenge to The Legends" was a special event where the regular Venus Project members invited a few "legend" idol seiyuu. The guests for Vol.1 were Sakurai Tomo, Ohta Takako, and Shishido Rumi. There are 6 main girls in Venus Project, but this live ony had 5 of them: Hata Sawako, Himesaki Ami, Tanabe Rui, Nemoto Ruka, and Hayase Marika. Iida Riho was missing. There were two sessions 14:00 and 18:00. Each event was a little less than 2 hours. Both sessions were basically the same. There were some changes in the singers of the duet songs, and the audio drama was slightly different.
For the duet songs with one of the Venus Project members and one of the legends, the Venus Project member sang the first verse alone, and then the legend appeared for the second verse. Sawako was wearing a white one piece (around knee length) with orange flowers. Her hair was tied up in a pony tail. Tomo was wearing a long, white dress.
Since this was my first Venus Project event, I only knew a couple songs from the TV anime and smartphone game. I was number 100 for the first session and 110 for the second. I think there were around 150 or so people each session. It wasn't that packed, but it was pretty full. Since it was all standing, only the first 50 or so people had a clear view of the stage. I could barely see the heads of most of the singers. Looking around I didn't see any of the old Sakurai Tomo fans. Maybe they didn't know of this event, or have passed on to other things.. This is the first time I saw Ohta Takako. It was great hearing the Creamy Mami songs. This is the first time I saw Hata Sawako in person. I will definitely try to go to more of her events from now on!
