At the Dark Castle, Access says that he has countered the Beauty Serein Arrow attack, and he must prevent Chacha from finding the phoenix sword. Yordas and Haideans swear to themselves to find it before Access.

In the morning, Shiine and Chacha, rejoined by Riiya, leave to look for the sword. Shiine recalls a legend which says that the phoenix could be living on the Boubou-yama (the burning mountain).

In the Boubou-yama, the forest is made of paper and matches, that easily catch fire, and there's a smell of gasoline in the air. The smallest spark sets fire to the trees and grass around, and the kids are quickly surrounded by flames. So Seravi and Dorothy, dressed up as firemen, appear and tell the kids the way to avoid setting fire and to put it out. Then Seravi and Dorothy give Chacha a "calling baton" (to call for the phoenix, that is) and leave.

Later, the kids find a river, not made of water but gasoline, that they can't drink. They also meet with a big worm which attacks them with the fireworks-grass he eats. They ask him if he knows the phoenix, but he doesn't. It's time for Yordas to Haideans to introduce themselves to the worm. They tell him they came from the Daimaou's castle, and as the worm seems to be in good terms with the Daimaou, they ask him to burn Chacha alive in the forest.

No matter how loud Riiya calls for the phoenix, he never comes to sight, and they can't agree on a bait to lure the phoenix. The worm ensnares them in a circle of flames, so they have to escape on their brooms. But the worm not only sets fire to the entire forest but also to their brooms. Then the worm makes a cocoon inside which he transforms into a monster butterfly and attacks the kids. The Princess' beauty serein arrow turns the butterfly into an harmless and much smaller one which brings the forest back to life.
