On their way, they meet Rascal-sensei, who runs a restaurant (with Urara-enchou, Marin, Orin and Yakko) now that all of his students are gone. Urara-enchou has heard of the legend of the three marshes: a red, a green and a black one. Marin and Orin will escort them.

They arrive at the forest where the mittsu-numa is, and find the three marshes. Marin uses her magic to create a giant octopus whose ink colours the first pond black. Next, Orin throws powerful kicks at a giant tree whose foliage falls down into the second pond, colouring it green. It's now Chacha's turn, but she cannot create a single red item to colour the last pond red.

Meanwhile, Yordas and Haideans, wearing diving suits, grab Marin's legs from under the water (thinking it's Chacha) and try to drown her. Thanks to Riiya's strength, the bad guys are sent flying in the air. They punch a big hole thru the forest's foliage. It allows the sun to colour the last pond red with its light. Then the ancient stone breaks apart.

This awakes not the expected phoenix but the frog monster inside. To punish them for having disturbed his sleep, the frog attacks them. So Chacha has to transform into the Princess to defeat him and send him back to eternal sleep.
