Card Captor Sakura (カードキャプターさくら) was the transformation of Sakura, who fought to capture the clow cards. Two months ago (April of her 4th grade), Sakura opened an old book in her father's room, and Kerberos came out. Kero-chan was the guardian of the book, which contained the clow cards. But the book was empty.

Kero-chan said that the cards were made by a magician called Clow Reed (クロウ・リード), and the cards will come to life with very powerful magic. When all of the cards are released, there will be a catastrophe in the world.

Kero-chan was supposed to guard the cards, but he was sleeping, and the cards got away. Kero-chan said that the only one who could open this book was one with magic powers, so Sakura must have some power. Then he released the key, and turned Sakura into Card Captor Sakura.

When Sakura captured the cards, she would write her name on the cards. Then as she became the owner of the cards, the cards would listen to whatever Sakura told them to do.
