Friends - 1998.10.10
There were no tickets required for this event. One had to just show up. There were around 200 people, sitting down in the front several rows, and then standing in the back. Since the stage was high, there was good visibility, even from the back, or even from a distant booth. Machiko came out after some game introduction talk by the announcer girl. Machiko did the voice of Kanako, and she talked about her character. Kanako is one year younger than the rest. She is very genki, but also childish. She is in love with Ryuusuke senpai, so she followed him to the reunion. Then Machiko yelled out, "Ryuusuke-senpai, where are you!" in Kanako's voice, a very high and cute voice. Machiko said that the most difficult thing in doing Kanako's voice was trying to be cute. Kanako is very straight forward, and she goes out and chases the guy she likes. Machiko said that she was very similar. Machiko said that usually the voices for games are taken while sitting down. But she did the role of Kanako while standing and actually going through the same motions as Kanako. Since Kanako is very genki and moves a lot, Machiko got very tired during the recording. The Friends original album is on sale. Each of the characters sing a solo song. Kanako is a very genki girl, but the song was a quiet song.
