The first public recording for the Kakikuke Kikuko no Sasisuse Sonata radio show took place on January 17, 1999, in the Suginami Koukaidou Hall. There were around 1000 people who attended. There is going to be a CD of this event being released in March.

My seat was in the 15th row, so I had to use binoculars to get a good view. Getting a good view was important, as this event could also have been called the "Inoue Kikuko and Yamamoto Maria cosplay show".

The entire event (over three hours) flowed like the radio show. Otakki Sasaki (who also wore many different outfits, girl's outfits) was the emcee. He was on the stage as much as Kikuko and Maria.

At first, Kikuko and Maria came out wearing China dresses! Kikuko was wearing a blue one, and Maria was wearing a red one. Both had their long hair in two buns, tied by blue and red ribbons to match their dresses.

Then they showed a video for the game Sonata.

Kikuko and Maria came out again, wearing the China dresses. After a short talk, they showed a "making of" video of the radio show. (They actually split this video into four parts.) It showed Kikuko and Maria going to Bunka Housou, and going to the meeting before the actual recording.

Then Kikuko and Maria came out wearing sailor fuku! The outfit was a long sleeve white one, with black trim. There was a red scarf, and the skirt was black, and very short. Maria was wearing white loose socks, and Kikuko was wearing black tight socks, long almost to the knees. They sat down at a table, and read some letters.

After the letters, they showed part two of the "making of" video. It showed Kikuko and Maria eating cake.

The next corner was the guests corner. Kikuko came out wearing a black shirt, with lacy long sleeves, and a long black skirt. She also had black shoes. Maria was wearing a purple sweater one piece, with the skirt a little above the knees. She was also wearing tan colored boots, with high heels.

The guests were Nishimura Chinami, Hikami Kyoko, and Konishi Hiroko. Chinami was wearing a white sweater and short shorts. Kyoko was wearing a light blue one piece (length above the knees), over a white short sleeve shirt. Hiroko was wearing a long red coat.

Although it was a guest corner, Kikuko did most of the talking..

Then they showed some more of the "making of" video.

After the video, they brought out six stand mikes onto the stage. Kikuko and Maria came out wearing nurse outfits! Kikuko had a white one, and Maria had a pink one. (The one Maria was wearing was actually Kikuko's, that she wore at the seiyuu collection event two years ago.)

Then the other guests and Otakki Sasaki came onto the stage to perform a live audio drama. This was a mystery drama with Kikuko and Maria as the two nurse detectives.. It was a murder case, and they stopped the drama before giving away who had done it.

There was a 30 minute break, and everyone in the audience was given a chance to try to figure out who the culprit was. People filled out the form with the name of the killer, and the reason why for choosing that person.

After the break, they continued the drama, and completed the story.

Then after the drama, they went into the concert session.

Inoue Kikuko was the first singer. Kikuko was wearing a white sweater with a flower design long skirt.. She sang Douzo Yoroshikune.

Nishimura Chinami was the next singer. She put on a red parka over her white shirt. Chinami sang the ending song to the Sonata game. This was a very fast song.

Hikami Kyoko was the next singer. She sang Fantasy Dakishimete, an image song from Sonata. This was a ballad.

Konishi Hiroko was the next singer. She sang Love on Time, an image song from Sonata.

Yamamoto Maria was the last singer. She was wearing a very cute idolish outfit. Maria had a white blouse with lots of frills, a white and blue checkered skirt that flared out, white socks, and had her hair in two pony tails on the sides. She sang the ending song to the radio show, ?.
[Maria was really singing, as she messed up a little once.]

After the concert session, they showed the final portion of the "making of" video.

Then Kikuko and Maria came back out wearing their "normal" clothes (Kikuko in black, Maria in purple), and they showed a video containing many scenes from the Sonata game. Kikuko said that she also did the voice of the miko in the game.

Then all of the guests came back on stage for the present corner. The presents were packs (15) or boxes (3) of the Sonata trading cards.

After the presents corner, they went into the adlib song corner, where Kikuko sang a song based on the keywords that were chosen by the other seiyuu.

Then the event ended after some final words by all the guests.

But there was also an encore! Kikuko and Maria came back onto the stage. Kikuko was wearing a long, brown, flower design one piece, with a white cardigan over it. Maria was wearing a white one piece, with a red cardigan over it. They sang their new duet song Sha La La.
