The Kira Melo members who appeared were as follows.

The final round of the audition for the second class of Kira Kira Melody Gakuen took place on March 5, 2000 at the Gas Hall in Ginza. This audition was open to the public (150 people). The Gas Hall is not very big (probably can only hold 300 or so). The 100 girls who were auditioning sat in the front of the first floor, so only the back of the first floor and the second floor (which wasn't that big) was open to the public.

I sat on the second floor, far to the left. Good thing I brought binoculars. (^_^;)

This audition event flowed as follows.

The main emcee was Souguchi Akihisa, and the assistants were Tsuchiya Mieko and Tanabe Miri.

When asked what she was doing at this time last year, Mieko said that she was working part time at a takoyaki store, a convenience store, and as a waitress at a restaurant.

The first class live at 11:00 consisted of the Kira Melo no Theme, Kira Melo Kouka (School Song), Sawai Natsumi's Stay With Me and Touch (with Mayo and Ai as the back dancers), Heart Chu's Tururu Daishouri, and Daisuki. Heart Chu had a new outfit. The style was like their previous outfit, but it was a lighter piece of checkered cloth. Mieko was orange, Sayaka green, and Jun pink. They still wore the same white fluffy tall boots.

The first half (50 girls) of the audition began at 12:00. Each girl had to do the following.

1. self introduction for 30 seconds,
2. read some lines of the Kira Melo radio drama (the girl can choose which role she was going to read)
3. sing the first part of Daisuki

Then Mayo did an example audition. She introduced herself, read the role of Soga Ayumi (Ohgoshi Tomoe's role), and then sang Daisuki.

After the long first half audition, there was a break. Then the second first class live began at 15:00. Mieko and Miri came out wearing the new school uniforms! Mieko was wearing the blue first class uniform, and Miri was wearing the olive green second class uniform. The style of the uniform was a jumper skirt instead of a two piece sailor.

The songs in this stage were Itou Emiko's Viva Onnanoko Doumei (with Nobuko, Sara, Ikue, and Miri as the back dancers), Melo Melo Melon's Meguru Kisetsu, and Odoru Houkago.

Then the second half (around 50 girls) of the audition began at 15:30. After the second half of the audition, there was a break, and the first class students had their third stage.

The songs in the third stage were Tokunaga Ai's Beginning, Muteki Palette's Say U, Dear Me's Stormy Dune, Heart Chu's Kira Kira, and Daisuki. There were seven girls in Dear Me, as Sakurai Sara and Itou Emiko joined the group. The Muteki Palette members were Chiyomi, Mae, Sara, Noriko, Chizuko, Sora, Rika, Naoko, and Mieko.

Then Souguchi Akihisa read out the numbers of the 50 girls who were selected to be the Second Class of Kira Kira Melody Gakuen. It seems like many of the girls who were chosen have some previous experience as minor idols, or singers, or companions, or models, or something..
