Kong Tong Sayonara Event
On December 26, 1999 there was an event to commemorate the closing of the Kong Tong Town store in Matsudo. The event was held on a small stage that was built in front of the store, and it was basically a Kira Kira Melody Gakuen event. (^_^;) The schedule of the Kong Tong Sayonara Event was as follows.
The Kira Melo girls who sang for stage 1 were:
Sawai Natsumi (沢井なつ美), Tsuchiya Mieko (土屋美恵子), Kuwakado Sora (桑門そら), Tanabe Miri (田邊みり), Ogura Maiko, Doumen Satomi, Hosokawa Seika, Inokuchi Yuka (猪口有佳), Itou Emiko (伊藤栄味子), Serai Shizuko (瀬來至寿子), Hinano Mayo (雛野まよ), Nagai Nobuko (永井信子), Misaki Mami, Daikoku Yuuka, Takahira Jun (高比良純), Mito Yoko (三戸洋子), Kamei Asaka, Ohtsuka Mae (大塚麻恵), Takayama Kanako (高山佳奈子).

stage 1They lined up several microphones on the stage, and they did an audio drama. The story was about the closing of Kong Tong Town, and it was written by Hinano Mayo. The girls who did the drama were Inokuchi Yuka, Tanabe Miri, Doumen Satomi, Hinano Mayo, Serai Shizuko, Itou Emiko, Hosokawa Seika, and Tsuchiya Mieko. They did the voices of their own Melody Gakuen character, but Inokuchi Yuka did two voices (her own and the old woman).
stage 2They had a janken tournament to give away some bags of goods (10 or so). The bags were full of stuff (junk) from Kong Tong Town.. To enter the janken tournament, one had to buy something (anything) at Kong Tong Town. I just bought a couple of Gundam models, as they were being sold for 100 yen each.
Heart ni Melon radioThere was a 25 minute radio show with Nagai Nobuko, Tsuchiya Mieko, and Takahira Jun.Mieko said she ate two cakes after the Christmas event with Ikue last night, as Ikue had come over to her place. This morning, Mieko supposed to wake up at 7. But when she woke up it was 8! Mieko saw Ikue still sleeping. Instead of waking her up, Mieko went to take a bath. But when she opened the door to the bathroom, the door hit Ikue. Mieko was surprised that Ikue was there. Then Mieko went back to the bed to see who was sleeping. Mieko said that Ikue had made the bed up to look like a body was there.. Nobuko said her older sister had a baby on 12/24. She feels sorry for the baby because he/she will only get a combined Christmas and birthday present. Jun said that she walked home after the event. She stopped at Starbucks to get a caramel something (??), that she really likes. Jun said that she drinks it almost every day. The first corner was Nobuko's "Non-chan no kore are sore dore" corner. Nobuko tried to explain her corner, but Mieko and Jun didn't understand. Jun said, "Somebody please translate." (^_^;) This was a corner where then guests had to try to guess the object (or keyword) that Nobuko was thinking about. Nobuko has the answer drawn on a piece of paper. The keyword was Heart ni Melon, the name of this radio show. It took a while, but Jun finally guessed it. Mieko lost, so she had to play the batsu game (a penalty for the loser). She had to drink a mix of the three drinks that the three girls had brought The next corner was Mieko's "stand up" corner. They discussed the official mook, Stand Up. They said that the profiles in the back of the book are the characters' But there were lots of things that were the same. The last corner was Jun's corner. She asked the question "What would you like to do if you were a boy?" Nobuko said, "I'm glad I'm a girl. A boy has to run a longer distance in the school marathon." Then she answered the question, "I would like to try to pick up girls." Jun said that she would like to go into a gyuudon store alone. Then Mieko said she can go into a gyuudon store alone now. Mieko said that she would like to go to an idol concert every day. The next question was, "What would you like to do in 2000?" Nobuko said she would like to write her own song. Mieko said that she was in the middle of writing lyrics for a Heart Chu song. Jun said Mieko already wrote one song, and Sayaka wrote the music for it. Mieko said she wanted to do a Japan-wide Kira Melo tour.
stage 3For the third stage, they had the Kira Melo auction, where they auctioned off some items that belonged to the girls. The prices started out low, but really went up toward the end of the event. Mieko's Heart Chu outfit (orange one piece shirt) went for 35000 yen.For Daisuki! instead of the normal "hey hey" call, they used the "kong tong" call. Also Mieko introduced the song instead of Nobuko. After the event, Nagai Nobuko, Tsuchiya Mieko, Tanabe Miri, and Kimura Ikue went to Kong Tong Town to help behind the counter. I'm sure the sales went up for about one hour.. (^_^;;
