• Event report version 0.7 by Hitoshi Doi, 2001.04.08

There was a series of events to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Lalaport Shopping Center between March 20 to May ? of 2001. There were many stage events every weekend, and two of the former Kira Kira Melody Gakuen girls were invited as guests on April 7.

I went early in the morning, carrying my camera and video equipment, along with my monopod, tripod, computer, MD recorder, presents.. It was very heavy. (^_^; But it turned out that photos and videos weren't allowed. (;_;)

Since my friends and I were lined up at the closest door to the stage, we were able to get front row seats.

The stage events on April 7 were as follows.

The first event was Mermaid Blue, a group of three girls in sexy outfits. They sang a Carpenters song (in English), another English song, and three Japanese songs (probably their own songs). I tried very hard not to fall asleep..

Then Mieko and Nobuko came around 14:15, for the rehearsal. They just sang parts of their songs, and left after 5 minutes. They were wearing street clothes. Nobuko in very short checkered skirt, and Mieko in jeans.

The real stage began at 15:00, and Mieko and Nobuko's stage consisted of a 8 minute medley of jpop and Kira Melo songs, a 10 minute talk corner, and Moon (ending theme to the game KONOHANA: True Report). The medley consisted of Asia no Junshin (Puffy), Yell (White Che), Heart Chu no Theme (Heart Chu), Gakuen Tengoku (Koizumi Kyoko), and Motto (Judy and Mary).

Nobuko and Mieko were both wearing white tops (close, but not exactly matching). Nobuko was wearing a light blue mini skirt, and Mieko was wearing a pink skirt.

During the talk session, they mentioned that Kira Kira Melody Gakuen broke up on 3/25. They talked a little about the photo sessions for the Kira Melo CDs. Nobuko mentioned that the legs of an old man who was lying down on the ground appeared on the jacket photo of Ichi Gakki.

Then the emcee girl mentioned Mieko's special skill of moving her nose, ears, and scalp. Then they asked Mieko to do it, and Mieko moved her nose and ears. She didn't move her scalp, as she said that it would be dangerous if the kids copied her. Then they talked about Nobuko. Nobuko said just liked to stare at her three goldfish for many hours, and she can understand what dogs are saying.

Mieko mentioned that she always comes to Lalaport when she has free time, and she loves to eat the sushi here.

Nobuko mentioned that she will have a live on 4/15 at Take Off 7. Mieko mentioned that she will have her band debut on 5/10 at Take Off 7. Mieko said that the name of her band hasn't been determined yet, but she wants to call it Mi-chans.

I didn't stay for the Shekidoll event.
