This was my first Premier Kikaku photo session that I attended. I went to take pictures of Ichii Hiori (second photo session of Hiori).

There were four photo sessions during the day, but since I had a baseball game in the early afternoon, I was only able to go to the fourth (last) session. For the fourth session, there were only three people who participated.

The Shinjuku Gyoen Studio was just one condo/apartment in a large apartment building near Shinjuku Gyoen. There were two rooms used as the photo studios, and these rooms were only about 6 "mats" each.

One room was on the south west corner of the building, so there were two windows and there was quite a bit of sunlight coming in. The other room was pretty dark.

Hiori wore three outfits. The first was a short, sleeveless one piece. The second was a red and white striped shirt, and short shorts. Both of these were taken in the brighter room. Hiori pinned her hair to show her forehead, so she looked very different from her usual hairstyle.

Hiori's third outfit was a blue yukata. This was taken in the dark room, which was only lit by candle light.

This photo session had one other girl, Morisaki Ai. They alternated the models, so I was able to take pictures of Ai also.

photo notes

I took 210 pictures with my 10D, with 157 of them worth keeping.

I ended up with 106 photos of Hiori and 51 photos of Ai.

There was enough light in the room to take pictures, but I used my flash (550 EX) bounced off the roof with my ST-E2 transmitter.

For the candle lit photos, I upped the sensitivity to ISO 800. But it was still a very slow shutter..
