Sentimental Graffiti New Year Happy Day
On January 17, 1998, the Sentimental Graffiti New Year Happy Day event took place at Melpark Hall. People who reserved the new Sentimental Graffiti CD 3x4 were given tickets to this event. There were two sessions, at 14:00 and 17:30. They were basically the same, and lasted around 1 hour 15 minutes. Only the Usagi Gumi girls were at this event. The event flowed as follows.
I had 4th row seats for the first session,
and 2nd row seats for the second session.
Both of them on the left side of the stage.
The 1st row was reserved for the press.
Sentimental Graffiti audition [reproduction]The first part was a reproduction of the Sentimental Graffiti audition which took place last year (1997.01.19). This was the audition where the six Usagi Gumi girls were chosen. All the girls wore the same clothes as they were wearing at the audition. They all had name tags, and they were holding the same script as last year. They went to the mikes one by one, and said the same lines as they did during the audition. (Parts of it can be seen in First Window.)The microphone was set up in the middle of the stage.
Okada Junko (entry number 25) was wearing a white shirt, a big brown
cardigan, a navy blue and white pleated mini skirt, and black boots.
(Junko had got a hair cut.)
Nishiguchi Yuka (entry number 103) was wearing a black vest, white shirt, a colorful checkered tie/collar, a colorful checkered mini skirt, short white socks with black trim, and black shoes. Okamoto Asami (entry number 210) was wearing a brown one piece (slightly above the knees, jumper skirt type), a light brown sweater (long sleeve), brown tights, and black shoes. Makishima Yuki (entry number 212) was wearing a very short white mini skirt (that flared out), a flower design colorful jacket, long black boots, and had little flower ornaments in her hair. Suzuki Urarako (entry number 690) was wearing a three quarter length brown shirt, brown mini skirt, brown tights, and black boots (tied in front). Konno Hiromi (entry number 808) was wearing a brown long sleeve shirt, brown long pants, and had her hair tied into two buns. She was wearing white shoes. Then everyone came back onto the stage. (From left to right: Junko, Yuka, Hiromi, Asami, Yuki, Urarako.) There was a short talk. Initially these six girls were supposed to do the voices of the game only, but they ended up doing songs, events, radio, and lots of other things. But the game will finally come out in January.
Yuka is still a student, and it's very hard on her to do both
school and seiyuu work. People tell her that she should do just one
of them, but she wants to keep doing both.
Recently, she can only get 2 or 3 hours of sleep at night.
Yuki came to Tokyo for the first time, and had to learn standard Japanese. She stayed with Hiromi, so she learned Japanese with a slight Hokkaidou accent. There was a supposed to be a singing part for the SG audition, and Urarako practiced a lot because she liked singing. But they cancelled that. Urarako was disappointed, but when she said she wanted to sing, they let her sing. She actually thought she wouldn't get the role because she sang. Finally, the seiyuu all commented on what they wanted to do this year. Junko wants to do more voice work after Sentimental Graffiti. She also wants to do a stage play at least once this year. Yuka did a lot last year, but says there is still a lot to do this year. She wants to do boy's roles, and other different roles. Yuka also wants to do a stage play. Hiromi said that her motto for this year is "happy, happier, happiest". Asami wants to be able to look back at this year and see herself improved. Also she said, "I want to be able to say something when they ask me for a self introduction." Yuki wants to improve a lot this year. Urarako wants to improve in things that she's lacking.
Sentimental Graffiti cosplay fashion showThe "official" cosplay girls for the twelve Sentimental Graffiti characters had a fashion show (of the school uniforms). The narration was done by the Usagi Gumi girls, and each cosplayer came out and walked around on the stage, in poses fitting the characters.The narration were: Honoka and Taeko by Junko, Emiru and Miyuki by Yuki, Wakana and Asuka by Asami, Kaho and Rurika by Hiromi, Manami and Yuu by Yuka, and Chie and Akira by Urarako.
Sentimental Graffiti announcementsAfter the cosplay, there were some announcements for Sentimental Graffiti goods coming out in the near future. Lots of books, CDs, catcher items..Oh, the game itself will come out on January 22.
SongsAfter the announcements, the Usagi Gumi girls sang three songs. Itsuka Kitto Ieruhazu by Okada Junko, Okamoto Asami, and Konno Hiromi, Crescent Moon by Nishiguchi Yuka, Makishima Yuki, and Suzuki Urarako, and Kumo no Mukou by all six Usagi Gumi girls. Itsuka Kitto Ieruhazu and Crescent Moon are new songs on the 3x4 CD. Kumo no Mukou is the opening song of the game.For Itsuka Kitto Ieruhazu they used stand mikes, and stood on the stage from left to right: Junko, Asami, and Hiromi.
Junko was wearing a white long sleeve shirt, reddish brown mini skirt,
and white boots.
She had two white ribbons in her hair (with hair in pony tails
off to both sides) in the first session.
In the second session, she had a white hair band.
Asami was wearing a white shirt and red mini skirt. She had white tights, and her hair was in a pony tail with a white ribbon. Hiromi was wearing a white shirt and a flashy red mini skirt, with white fur at the bottom. Her hair was in two white buns. This was an upbeat song, and their dance/movements were like that of an idol group. They moved a lot. During the interlude, Junko ran around the stage waving at the crowd. In the second session, she even twirled around.. with that mini skirt. (^_^;) After the songs there was a very short talk by the three girls. The dance and movements for this song were thought up by the three girls. But they didn't have time to get together to rehearse until today. For Crescent Moon they also used stand mikes, and stood on the stage from left to right: Yuka, Yuki, Urarako. They had matching outfits, a white long sleeve shirt and white mini skirt. Yuka had black shoes, Yuki had black boots, and Urarako had black boots. Yuka had a crescent moon shaped hair clip on the left side in the first session. In the second session, she had a white hair band. Urarako had white ribbons in her hair. This was a ballad, and their nice movements were slow and well matched. After the songs there was a very short talk by the three girls. The three girls made up the movements for this song at Urarako's house. Also they said that they sang the different parts from the CD version. Then all six girls came back on stage to sing Kumo no Mukou. They were on the stage from left to right: Junko, Yuka, Asami, Yuki, Hiromi, Urarako. I think the Usagi Gumi girls are much better at singing in front of the public now than they were last summer.
