Ezaki Productions Matsuri
On December 22, the seiyuu production company Ezaki Productions had a 25th Anniversary special event in the Hibiya Koukaidou hall (which seats over 2000 people). The event was broken up into two parts, a song session (which lasted for around 30 minutes) and a stage session (which lasted over one hour). All (or almost all) of the seiyuu belonging to Ezaki Productions appeared to sing or take part in the stage drama. Then at the end of the event, all of the seiyuu came on stage to sing some Christmas songs and to say good bye. There will be a video tape of this event (only the stage session) coming out in the spring of 1996. Also everyone who came received a cassette tape containing simple messages by the seiyuu.
Song SessionAs the curtains went up, there was a group of 4 guys in white standing in a circle. Then as the music started, the guys spread out to reveal Inoue Kikuko in the middle! Kikuko was wearing a red china dress, and her hair was tied up in two odangos with red ribbons [SUPER CUTE].
Kikuko sang Pauline to Shounen.
During the interlude of the song Kikuko added,
Kikuko did change some of the lyrics to include Christmas ramen and Oshougatsu ramen (new year's ramen). After Kikuko's song, Ishida Akira sang Knight of Midnight, Hikami Kyoko [wearing a white outfit] sang Pure Love, Ohtani Ikue [wearing a black outfit with a mini skirt] sang ??, Okamura Akemi sang ??, Akimoto Yousuke sang ??, Hoshino Mitsuaki sang ??, Kamei Yoshiko, Kita Ayumi, and Nakazawa Yayoi sang Bohemian, Naya Rokurou sang ??, Tsumura Makoto, Asaoka Natsumi, Sato Yuri, and Masuda Yuki sang Yuzurenai Negai, Ohtsuka Akio sang ??, Madono Mitsuaki sang ??, Tanaka Atsuko sang ??, and Soumi Yoko sang Hohoemi no Bakudan. Then the curtains went down and the song session ended.
Stage SessionWhen the stage session began, there was a small platform with a kotatsu (a Japanese heated table with futon) on it, at the left part of the stage. Seated at the kotatsu were Hikami Kyoko, Inoue Kikuko, and Ohtani Ikue. It was a skit where those three were acting as three sisters who were trying to become seiyuu.It was Christmas time, and the three sisters started singing Jingle Bells. But they were not happy, as they were at home for Christmas.
Kyoko: Next year, let's be working on Christmas.
Then several microphones were set up on the other parts of the stage and many seiyuu came to perform various short skits (in the style of after recording) with various character voices. Some of the voices were: the kindergarten master from Crayon Shin-chan (by Naya Rokurou), Kunikida from Blue Seed (by Ohtsuka Akio), Fish Eye from Sailor Moon Supers (by Ishida Akira), Wedding Peach (by Hikami Kyoko), Kobo-chan (by Ohtani Ikue), Takeru from Yamato Takeru (by Kamei Yoshiko), Kiriomi from Yamato Takeru (by Kita Ayumi), Maron from Bakuretsu Hunter (by Madono Mitsuaki), and Belldandy from Aa Megami-sama (by Inoue Kikuko).
One very funny part was:
After the various short skits, the kotatsu platform came onto the stage again. The three sisters were looking at a Christmas cake. There was a house made of candy, and Kyoko said that she wanted to eat it. But then Ikue said that she wanted it too. While they were arguing, Kikuko took the house and ate it! She really ate it! (^_^) Next they moved the platform away and had a Christmas cake seller skit. Soumi Yoko, Kita Akemi, and Kamei Yoshiko were the three girls who worked to sell Christmas cakes. Various other seiyuu came along and the girls tried to sell cakes to them. One of the people who came was Ishida Akira who acted as a young man with thick glasses, like a nerd. The three girls competed to see who would be able to sell the cake to him. There were even two gay guys, one of whom was wearing only panty hose! After the cake seller skit, the kotatsu platform came onto the stage again. Kikuko had a deck of cards that she was shuffling, and she wanted to play cards. But Kyoko and Ikue were still upset that Kikuko had eaten the candy house. Next was a christmas tree skit, where Naya Rokurou and Ohtsuka Akio were two fir trees that were not chosen to be Christmas trees. A lot of people came by, such as a drunk guy who threw up by one of the trees, a woman who had just broken up and wanted to commit suicide by hanging herself on the tree, some thiefs, and even the president of Ezaki productions himself. After the christmas tree skit, there was a policeman skit where Madono Mitsuaki played the frustrated policeman because he didn't have any opportunity to shoot his gun. Then one by one a lot of people came to him saying that they were robbed. After the policeman skit, the kotatsu came out again for the final time.
Good-ByeFor the final portion of the event, all of the seiyuu came onto the stage and sang some Christmas songs. They sang Silent Night, Red Nosed Reindeer, I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, and Jingle Bells (all in Japanese).After the songs, some of the seiyuu gave their good-bye messages.
Naya Rokurou gave the final message, and the curtains went down.
