Kira Melo New Year Live
The Kira Melo guests were as follows.
The Kira Kira Melody Gakuen New Year live took place on January 8, 2000 at the Piaza Matsudo hall on the 6th floor. This was a "fan club" and "normal person" event, so normal people were able to attend. But it was limited to 50 fan club members and 20 non-members. So one had to make reservations early. I reserved it only 20 minutes after they started taking reservations, and I was number 34. Seating for the event was by number. There were a lot of Tokunaga Ai fans. There was also food at this event. Before the event started, and during the 15 minute intermission, everyone was able to eat and drink (stand up style eating). They had beer, wine, tea, and several different kinds of foods. During the break, they had ozouni (a Japanese New Year soup with mochi). Some of the girls came to pass them out. The emcees for the event were Hinano Mayo and Matsumoto Chiyomi. The event was divided up into two parts, and flowed as follows.
The event started with a medley of Kira Melo songs, the theme song and Odoru Houkago, with everyone on the stage. Then Mae and Asaka sang Diamonds and Madoka and Yoko sang Dancing Hero. It was the first time for these girls to sing together as a "group". Miri, Ikue, Fuuko, and Sara were back dancers for Madoka and Yoko's song. Then Ai sang Heartful Candy and Hishochi no Mori no Tenshitachi. Mieko and Sayaka were back dancers, wearing their Heart Chu outfits. But since Ai was wearing white, Mieko was wearing Jun's pink outfit. (Sayaka's outfit is blue.) Mieko and Sayaka kept up well to Ai's very quick dance. Then Muteki Palette sang Say-U (the new year version). Each girl wrote down their "wish" for 2000 on a scroll, and showed that at the beginning of the song. Next they had the birthday presents for those who were born in January, and then they went into the 15 minute break. But during the break, the girls came back onto the stage to sing Young Man. The second half of the event began with Tsuchiya Mieko's "batsu game", since she had lost the competition against Miri (at the Christmas event ). Mieko sang Chokotto Love, while dressed in all black with some circular light sticks stuck all over her body. The next skit was a new club in Kira Kira Melody Gakuen, the "megane club" (glasses). Tomoe, Mayo, Ai, Rika, and Yoko came out wearing glasses, and did a funny skit. The next group was Heart Chu, who sang Kira Kira. Mieko said that she was a little disappointed that there was no Y2K problem, as she had bought two cases of mineral water for an emergency. Sayaka said she bought one bottle, and Jun said she forgot to buy one. The next group was Dear Me. They sang Moonlight Densetsu. They were wearing their Kira Melo school uniforms, but they had the forehead band with the "correct" colors. Mayo even had her hair tied in two pony tails (but no odangos). Mayo was Moon, Tomoe was Mercury, Ikue was Mars, Fuuko was Jupiter, and Miri was Venus. They said the attacks during the song too. Then Sakurai Sara, Nagai Nobuko, and Tokunaga Ai sang Naniga Nandemo (a song by Sakurakko Club). They all wore a white top, and a school girl skirt (of different colors). The final song was Daisuki! by everyone. Then all the girls got in formation for the photo taking session. Everyone (in groups of 20) was able to take pictures for 3 minutes. After the girls left, there was a call for an encore, and the girls came back to sing Daisuki again.
