On March 3, 1994, Yoshizumi Wataru had her first ever signing session at Seibu department store in Ikebukuro. Yoshizumi Wataru is the author of Marmalade Boy (the manga runs in Ribbon and the TV series started in March).

There were two sessions planned that day (at 13:00 and 15:00) which had a limit of 100 people each. The signing session took place in the middle of the toy section of the department store, close to where they sold the toys for Marmalade Boy. They had lots of Marmalade Boy cels and original art on display.

I wasn't planning on getting an autograph, because I didn't want to go early and wait in line. Some people that I knew were arranging to meet before 10:00.

After going to some game centers to get some Sailor Moon UFO catcher dolls, I arrived at Seibu Ikebukuro just before 12:00. The line for the event wasn't as long as I expected. So I decided to get in line. After around 30 minutes, they passed out numbers, and I was number 80.

The line was mostly full of little girls and their mothers. There were only around 20 or less "older" boys. (I knew around 11 of them. ^_^;)

The event started at 13:00 and the line moved very slowly. I thought that Yoshizumi Wataru was drawing some pictures along with her signature. But it turned out that she was just signing her name..

At around 14:00 I got a signature board with a little printed picture of Miki (from Marmalade Boy) and Yoshizumi Wataru's signature. They were also giving away presents for everyone. It was a choice of poster, clear file, or handkerchief set. I took the clear file.
