    • Event report version 0.7 by Hitoshi Doi, 1998.08.06

The event to commemorate the completion of the Kirara OAV took place on July 26, 1998 in the Suginami Koukaidou hall in Tokyo. But they were late with the OAV, and it wasn't completed yet. So it was the "non-completion" event. Since I went to watch the seiyuu instead of the anime, this turned out good for me.. (^_^;)

Everyone was given reserved seats, in order by the number on the postcard. I was in the 14th row, off to the left.

    The event flowed as follows.

    • Shiawase ha Koko ni Aru (Ohsawa Chiaki)
    • guest talk corner
    • Toho bishoujo anime video
    • Kirara event video clips
    • Mito Koumon skit
    • Kirara Live
      • Power of Love (Ohsawa Chiaki)
      • ? (Ohsawa Chiaki)
      • Walk in the Rain (Kobayashi Yumiko)
      • ? (Elika)
      • Smile Again (Elika)
      • Power of Love (all guests)

    Shiawase ha Koko ni Aru

The event opened with Ohsawa Chiaki walking out through the crowd, and going on stage to sing Shiawase ha Koko ni Aru. Chiaki was wearing a very flashy white dress.

    guest talk corner

After the song, Itou Kentarou came out as the emcee. Then all the other guests came too.

Mitsuishi Kotono was wearing a blue and white striped one piece, very short (way above the knees), no sleeves. She also had big, white and blue ear rings.

Toyoshima Machiko was wearing a dark red one piece, coming down a little below her knees, short sleeves. She was wearing red high heels (very high), and had three red clips in her hair, on the left side. Machiko's hair is getting longer..

There was a short talk session.

    Toho bishoujo anime video

Instead of the Kirara OAV, they showed a video made up of clips from various anime released by Toho, their "bishoujo anime video". The shows featured were: Leda, Kimagure Orange Road, Super Sonic Soldier Borgman, Mamono Hunter Yohko, Idol Boueitai Hummingbird, Ginga Ojousama Densetsu Yuna, and Kirara.

    Kirara event video clips

Then they showed a video made up of clips from the Kirara event that took place on 5/10. This video was around 20 minutes, and I think it might be the one that will be included in the special edition of the Kirara OAV.

    Mito Koumon skit

After a ten minute break, they had the Mito Koumon skit. Everyone was dressed well for their parts.

Machiko was wearing an orange kimono (with yellow butterflies on it), had red clips in her hair (both sides), and had her hair in two tails (like Adachi Taeko). Very cute!

    Kirara Live

Then there was a short talk, to allow Ohsawa Chiaki to change clothes, and then they moved onto the Kirara live.

Chiaki came out wearing the pink and white outfit (I think the same outfit as the previous event [as seen in the video]), and sang Power of Love and ?. Power of Love is a fast song, with crowd yells. Also there are some hand movements for the chorus parts.

Then Kobayashi Yumiko sang Walk in the Rain, and Elika sang two songs. Smile Again (the ED to Kirara) by Elika was a piano only version (very nice).

Then everyone came back onto the stage for some final comments.

The event ended with all of the guests singing Power of Love. Machiko did have a couple solo parts, and Kotono had some monologue lines during the second verse.

    handshake session

After the event, there was a handshake session to those who reserved the Kirara OAV. The seiyuu that participated in the handshake were Ohsawa Chiaki and Kobayashi Yumiko.

    special video

At the end of the event, when everyone was leaving, they passed out a special Power of Love video to "apologize" for being late with the OAV. This was a 7 minute video with song clips from the Kirara event in May.
