Masaaki: I had a very lonely Christmas.
Megumi: Really? Me too.
The guest for this week was Inoue Kikuko.
Kikuko: Hello, I'm Inoue Kikuko.
Megumi: I call Kikuko "oneechan" because we are in Ranma 1/2.
She was the older sister.
Masaaki: You're the younger sister?
Megumi: No, I'm Ranma.
Masaaki: I met Kikuko before when I was in Garou Densetsu.
That was my first attempt at voice acting.
It was hard. I didn't know anything. I had never seen the screen before.
She helped me a lot and was very kind.
Megumi: Kikuko-chan is doing lots of foreign films and such,
but now most anime fans will know her as a goddess in Aa Megami-sama.
Her character was number one in an anime magazine poll.
Kikuko: The manga is very good. So it's very popular.
Megumi: There are three goddesses. How are you getting along?
Kikuko: We are all very good friends. We go out to eat together and such.
Masaaki: I have a figure of Aa Megami-sama. I haven't built it yet.
It's still sleeping in the box.
How do you try to do the Belldandy character?
Kikuko: She's not human. She's a goddess.
So I try to bring out as much kindness as I can.
Masaaki: When you first got your role, does the director tell you
how to do it? Or do you do it on your own?
Kikuko: In this case, because there was a manga, I read the manga
and tried to get a feel of the character.
Masaaki: So the seiyuu decides on the characters?
Megumi: There are a few tests, and the director advises us on the
little details. The first episode is the hardest. After that
we do it in the same way.
Kikuko: The first episode is always the hardest.
Masaaki: Are you doing any other roles?
Kikuko: Anime?
Masaaki: Yes.
Kikuko: Ranma, Nadia..
Masaaki: I have a Nadia figure too.
Megumi: Is she awake?
Masaaki: No, she's still sleeping in the box.
Megumi: But when I felt Kikuko was great was in Friday the 13th.
One day I was at home watching and wondering who did the voice.
I didn't know who it was with the yelling and strong voices.
Masaaki: She did Jason?
Megumi: Ha, ha, ha! You think she would!
Megumi: She did the girl who fought against Jason.
So the Kikko-chan who does foreign films is very different from
the Kikko-chan who does anime.
Masaaki: Do you do any sports?
Kikuko: I'm no good at running. When I was in 6th grade, I ran 50 meters
in 13 seconds. But I like swimming.
Megumi: You say you were a fish in your previous life.
Masaaki: Huh? A fish.
Megumi: Why do you think that?
Kikuko: I remember it.
Masaaki: Remember?
Kikuko: When I was in high school, when I was swimming, it came to me.
I don't remember the type of fish, but I think it was a "manbou".
[ocean sunfish]
Megumi and Masaaki laughed.
Masaaki: So how far can you dive? Can you go 25 meters underwater?
Kikuko: I think I need to breath once or twice.
Megumi: You have some albums out with the Megami-sama, but next year
you're going to release a solo album?
Kikuko: Yes. It's my first solo album.
Megumi: The title is Yuubina Osakana.
Masaaki: Yuubina Osakana? Weren't you just saying that you were
a fish for the record campaign?
Then they played the song, "Yuubina Osakana".
Megumi: Inoue Kikuko's
Yuubi na Osakana
will go on sale 2/2, next year.
This is the first time that this was played on the air right?
Kikuko: Yes. I'm so happy.
Megumi: There is a promotion video that will be played at Animates?
Kikuko: Yes, the music clip will be played at Animate and some
other anime shops.
Megumi: 150 shops. So if you want to meet Kikko-chan, go to the anime
shops and stay in front of the TV.
Megumi: What do you plan on doing next year?
Kikuko: Next year? I haven't thought of anything yet.
Megumi and Masaaki laughed.
Kikuko: I'm sorry.
Megumi: Any final message for the fans?
Kikuko: My album is coming out on 2/2. I can't believe it myself.
But it's all because of the people that cheer for me.
I'll try my best from now on. Please cheer for me.
